And here is another gear list for those that care. I would like to go lighter, but I'm comfortable with the equipment I have right now. I intend to reuse most of my PCT gear for the AT, with two notable exceptions:
-
I replaced the Hyperlite Mountain Gear Wind Rider 2400 backpack with its cousin, the Southwest 2400. I got it in the black cuben fabric this time because I like the color and its a little bit tougher than the white cuben.
-
I also changed out the Sea to Summit Ultralight Insulated sleeping pad for the Thermarest NeoAir Xlite. I don't actually care much for the Xlite — it's noisy and the valve is awful — but it is lighter and slightly warmer. I probably will swap it for the S2S pad again the moment it pops — because it will pop (for the third time).
